A big thanks to all our recent fundraisers!
The purpose of this scholarship is to give financial assistance to college bound students of Greek American descent who demonstrate a strong commitment to community service and volunteerism. Two $1000 scholarships will be awarded yearly.
John G Adinamis was a 3rd generation funeral director in Chicago. He was known for his compassion and caring and his deep devotion to the Greek Orthodox community. He had a deep respect for the Chicago Police and was a devoted supporter of the Hellenic American Police Association since its inception in 1993. Together with Commander Elias Voulgaris he gave tirelessly to support their goals of helping fellow officers.
John was a fervent believer in stewardship not only in financial support to the churches but to their philanthropic programs to help the underserved in Chicago. Giving back was very important to John and his mission was to encourage young people to get involved and volunteer. He believed in Philotemo and lived it every day .
Hellenic American Police Association is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1993 by Commander Elias Voulgaris to help raise monies to help officers and their families throughout Chicago. They are always looking for volunteers for their events and fundraisers.
